Medical Club is hosting CPR training will be 10/23 & 10/24 from 2:35 to 4:35 each day. The cost is $10 - pay and sign up in the bookstore. See Mrs. Leverenz in 2219 if you have questions. Space is limited. Teachers are invited to participate as well.

Awareness to Action Conference – On the evening of October 11th, we invite you to participate in a special event for juniors and seniors from the five Parkway high schools. Our goal is to inspire and empower students to be proactive, effective problem-solvers and to work for positive change in the world. Special guests from various walks of life will conduct break-out sessions around the following questions: How can I effectively advocate for a cause about which I am passionate? What must I do to develop potential solutions for problems that are relevant to me in my community and the world?

7 p.m. – Opening session for all students
7:20-8:05 p.m. – Break-out sessions (Round 1)
8:15-9 p.m. – Break-out sessions (Round 2)

GSA Meetings are being held weekly, Thursday's after school through the end of October. If you would like to make a difference in our community and help eliminate bullying in our halls please join us from 2:30 - 3:30 on Thursdays. Or even just a part of that time! Let your voice be heard and bring great ideas and support to GSA.

Do you want a chance to win a $20,000 scholarship for college? You can if make it to the national finals of Poetry Out Loud. Any student in any grade may enter the first round by memorizing and reciting a poem from the approved anthology. Anyone who wants to participate must sign up with Ms. Pomerantz. Stop by and pick up the information in the library loft. The first round will be held October 23rd right after school. Get memorizing!

Do you like to help others and reach out to those in need? Looking for service hours? Then join Homeless Helpers! We meet THURSDAY mornings at 7:20 a.m. in room #2121 (Mr. Moeller’s room).

Free ACT Prep Classes will be offered after school beginning on Monday, October 8. The classes will focus on Math, Science, English usage, and English Comprehension. You may sign up through the Parkway North website. Please see Mrs. Babitz in Guidance if you have any questions.

The PSAT is coming! The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 17th at 7:35 am in the upper gym. You may sign up in the book store NOW. Please bring a check for $18 payable to Parkway North High School.

Parkway College Fair: Parkway North will host the Parkway College Fair TONIGHT from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the Gym and Commons.

The Transportation Engineering Association will have an essay contest for juniors and seniors in connection with the Transportation Fair at the Maryland Heights Community Center TODAY.

Yale University invites you to a  session in St. Louis TODAY at Clayton High School at 7pm. Find out about academic programs, campus life, admissions, and financial aid. Bring family and friends.

Swarthmore College will host its annual fall multi-cultural visit on September 29th and October 1st.

Missouri University of Science & Technology will have a Girls Lock In Conference on October 5-6 for 11th and 12th grade girls interested in Science & Engineering.

Culver-Stockton College will have a visit day on October 8th on campus for education majors. Take a trip around campus and learn in a simulated classroom.

Emory University, U of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, U of Notre Dame, and U of Virginia invite you to an introduction of their respective institutions and a discussion of admissions and financial aid processes on October 9th at 7pm at Renaissance St. Louis Airport.

Dartmouth College, Northwestern University, Princeton University, U of California, Berkeley, and Vanderbilt University invite you to an evening information program with their admissions representatives on October 15th at 7pm at Renaissance St. Louis Airport.

Colgate University's Multi-cultural Open House will be held October 20-21. Deadline to apply is October 5th.

Southeast Missouri State University will have Show Me Days on October 6 and November 10 at 10am at the Show Me Center and to tour the campus. You need to pre-register.

Senior Women Exploring Engineering at Purdue may attend a free day long engineering series on Monday October 15th from 8am to 4:30pm on the campus of Purdue. Registration deadline is October 8th.

Advancing Women in Transportation, St Louis Chapter is looking for female juniors and seniors to participate in Future Females in Transportation Day, October 10th from 9am to 3pm. Must be interested in engineering, architecture, math or science. Must be nominated by your counselor.

Tufts College will have a Diversity Experience on October 25-26. The deadline to sign up is October 15th.

St Louis University will have a National College Fair on October 21st from noon to 3pm.

Discover Middlebury is a multicultural open house on October 21-23.

Tulane University will have an event at the Hilton St Louis Frontenac on October 23rd at 7pm. Representatives will give insight into the unique opportunities and academic values found there. You need to RSVP.

UMSL Days fall visit program will be Saturday, November 17. You need to preregister.

Dance Day 2012 will be held at SEMO on December 1st. Prospective dance students will participate in two free Masters Classes, beginning at 9am, taught by professional faculty. Experience dance in a college environment. Dance Scholarship auditions for seniors will be held at 11:45am. Registration is due by November 26.

SEMO awards the Jack Buck Scholar Leadership Award to one college freshman with a 3.6 GPA and a 28 ACT. Applicants must demonstrate leadership through involvement with extracurricular activities and community service. Two letters of reference must accompany the application which is due December 1st .You must be nominated by your counselor.

Lindenwood University will hold its Future Freshmen Day on January 5th to honor the brightest students. Students can speak with the Dean from each Department tour the campus, attend a student mixer. Learn about scholarships, including Bright Flight.

Missouri University of Science & Technology will have a Girls Lock In Conference on April 19-20 for 11th and 12th grade girls interested in Science & Engineering.

St Louis Community College - Meramec will have campus visit sessions on Mondays at 2pm and Fridays at 10am this fall. You must preregister. Students & parents will have an opportunity to learn about the community college, understand the steps to enrollment, and tour the campus with a student ambassador. Sessions last approximately one hour. Take advantage of this opportunity.

Wellesley College will hold a Discover Wellesley Days in September, October, November. Please preregister.

The UMSL Bridge Program is enrolling at this time. This Saturday Academy will meet the first two Saturdays of the month from October thru March. You need a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
