Welcome to Health Room News from Wren Hollow Elementary!
My name is Chris Dobbins, the school nurse at Wren Hollow Elementary. This is my 11th year at Wren Hollow and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the families in the Wren Hollow community. My family has resided in Parkway for the past 19 years and my 3 children all attend or graduated from Parkway schools. My contact information is listed below and I welcome any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child's health and well being.
Medications at school
Parkway School District's policy regarding medication administration at school requires parent permission for all medications, prescription or over the counter. If the medication is over the counter, a physician's order must accompany the medication. All medications must be in their original container. Prescription medications must have the original pharmacy label affixed. To obtain a parent permission form or physician authorization form, click on the link at the top of this page.
Physical examinations are recommended in Parkway upon entrance into school and at the beginning of the 3rd, 6th, and 9th grades. All students in grades 2 and 5 will be given a physical form at the end of the school year. These forms need to be completed by both the parent AND the physician. Return these forms as soon as your child's physical is complete. Additional forms may be obtained from the school nurse or you may click on the link at the top of this page.
Should my child be in school?
As a parent, it is sometimes difficult to know when your child should be kept home from school due to an illness or contagious condition. Please click on the link, " When to keep your child at home", to obtain some guidelines on when your child should be kept at home to prevent the spread of illness to others and to aide in their recovery from an illness.
